A2K+ (Access to Knowledge for Technology Development and Dissemination)

The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India

The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), established in 1985 under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, plays a pivotal role in fostering industrial research and innovation across the nation. Its primary mandate is to promote and strengthen industrial R&D by supporting in-house R&D units, facilitating technology development, absorption, and transfer, and encouraging start-ups and MSMEs through various technology-driven initiatives. DSIR operates several flagship programs to achieve these goals, including the Public Sector R&D Support, Technology Development and Innovation Programme (TDIP), Industrial R&D Promotion Programme (IRDPP), Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP), and Access to Knowledge for Technology Development and Dissemination (A2K+). These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial application, thereby contributing to national growth and technological self-reliance.
